University Teaching Department of Electronics called "School of Electronics" was conceived and planned as early as 1989, with the launch of M. Sc. (Electronics)-4 Semester programme. This course was a joint initiative of UGC & Department of Electronics, Govt. of India (Now Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY)) to train manpower in Electronics Science.

In 1993, the school started another course M.Sc. Electronics and Communication. The Specialization of this Course was Network Infrastructure Management.

From 2002 – 2008, School started three M.TechPrgrammes viz. Embedded Systems, GeoInformatics (Spatial Information Technology) and Mobile Computing Technology (Innovative Programme sanction by UGC in 2008)

In 2018, School started M.Tech Executive Program in Embedded Systems for working professionals.

In 2020, School started Undergraduate Programmes viz.Integrated M.Techin Electronics (Spl: Embedded Systems)and B.Sc (Electronics, Computer Science, Mathematics/ Electronics, Physics, Mathematics).
